FROM TUBELESS TO TPMS

Over the past years, there has been a strong increase in the demand for electronic equipments to assist driving and security. Tyre pressure is an important security element because it impacts the way the car holds the road. In 2000, American legislation (TREAD Act) obliged all the car manufacturers to equip the new vehicles with a system to inform the driver if a tyre is not inflated enough. If a tyre is under-inflated, the fuel consumption goes up to 6%. Considering this fact, European Commission has just decided to make this system compulsory from November 1st, 2012.

PRESSURE SENSORS (RTPMS)

Since 1991, Schrader has been working on the development of its on-board pressure control system.
Schrader plays a part in vehicle safety developments in partnership with manufacturers and the RTPMS has become series equipment on numerous vehicles.
In the resale market, Schrader sells a complete range of kits and special tools for electronic valves.

2/ SCHRADER SENSORS:

-Complete aluminium "clamp-in" type valves fixed to a plastic cased housing (grommet seal or conical seal).

- Complete aluminium valves with varible angle, fixed to a plastic cased housing.

- Complete rubber "Snap-in" type valves

3/ V.D.O. SENSORS:

Complete flexible valves connected to an electronic circuit. (**)

4/ BERU SENSORS :

Complete aluminium valves available in several length. Sensors have to be ordered separately. (**)

5/ TOOLS:

A complete range of diagnostic and reprogramming tools, torque wrenches especially designed for tightening the pressure sensors nuts, Torx tools for "snap-in" screws.

6/ SCHRADER TPMS RETROFIT KIT   

Schrader proposes an Aftermarket TPMS system for passenger cars without equipment of origin. It includes a Dash-mounted receiver/display with 4 wheel-mounted transmitters (approved in 1st Equipment by car manufacturers).
